The Program lessons plans have been well tested, and have proven successful in every type of community setting. The Program has 20 lessons over 20 weeks. The established program objectives are as follows:

  • To learn the basic skills required to play the game of hockey
  • To develop an understanding of basic teamwork through participation in a variety of activities and adapted game situations
  • To have fun while playing hockey and engaging in physical activity
  • To create and refine basic motor patterns
  • To be introduced to the concepts of cooperation, fair play, and
    sportsmanship
  •  Focuses on basic hockey skills; skating, puck-handling, passing and shooting.

At the end of each Session, Our Professional Staff provides the participant with a report card of their progress and provide advice with what they should do next. The natural progression for a "Learn to Play Hockey" Graduate is to move into our In-House Hockey Leagues where they can participate in games throughout the year. With two distinct seasons ( Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter), there is always a League available. With great competition, good fun, healthy exercise, long lasting friendships, the Leagues are very exciting for all, parents and participants alike.

A player needs to have a approved helmet and face shield, mouth guard, hockey gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, hockey pants, hockey shin guards, hockey cup, hockey skates, hockey sox, stick, and possibly a practice jersey.
